How did Elf on the Shelf come to life?

How to hatch an Elf Egg:
All you need to do is to place your Elf Egg into a bowl of water and completely cover it in water. Then all you need to do is wait while your Elf grows and the egg begins to crack. The Elf will continue to grow for at least 14 days if you leave it in the water.
*Please note: You might need to hold the egg under the water line to let out any air bubbles.*
